Pathos

On Pathos

It's the sheep in wolfs clothing pretending my hoofs are toes

To feel more human or more hunter whichever will get me closer to the total goal I'm frightened by

But still I will cross over any bridge then burn it down and use it's ashes for eyeliner

Wine glass filled up nicely by some sidewinder venom

That will warm me from inside and make me more or less attentive

We won't be young forever so it's best we go outside and

Bring our dreams and fears to life to experience what we were kept from

Forget it. Accepted that I'll never reach perfection

Evidence suggests that I should quit before attempts succumb

To lower depths that corresponds with pathetic

A quarter of my life passed and left me yearning for affection

Step up. All hail the holy facade

That free will is life's basis when really its not

There are only skies above us so there's no reason to hide away

The side of you that modifies your silent crying state

Equidistant from the starting line and even starting over

Makes it harder to decide to get it going or surrender

Put that dichotomy into your pipe and smoke it

The weight upon that strain can make it way more potent

The train is here. Come and step inside it

Your destination estimates your time of arrival

Every trip is different. As long as you didn't miss it

When they come to claim your ticket you'll make it a day to reminisce

Fast forward to a time where you're rewarded

Bask in how it feels then chase that high like you snort it

Like by how I have a thought, write it down, then go record it

And piecing the traits together through poetry is beyond euphoric

We don't remember being born, just being

So why should we fear dying when we've underwent the feeling?

The nothingness, the freedom and everything in between them

Has some parties mourning losses while others say Carpe diem

This a requiem for all the fallen angels

Those misunderstood or misguided by who raised them

This life's a trial of our so called free existence

Perceiving people as heathens that lead a hedonistic living

If Santa had some other lists, I'd bet I'm on the one

That systematizes only the stubborn kids who want nothing from him

But want something of a very similar essence

That means a whole lot more than materialistic presents

As of now I throw myself at the courts

Do what you will to I but keep in mind that ideas don't die

When someone falls off balance then the pyramid collapses

We are all we've got so inward-looking will be hazardous

My wings are like Beelzebub's. They're tattered but keep me above

The sea of suffering where you can see some hands reach out of the water

Thats washing over the heads that held thoughts of if you work hard then you'll have your existence is guarded

Prepare to have your boat capsized by reality

The laws of life and fate ignore the presence of legality

I should stop now and have you find out for yourself

For I am running the risk of incriminating myself to death

Optimism is just not in the cards

And My pragmatic caliber is one to bite your thumb at

Stab me with a thumb tack and then hang me on the wall

For you to spend the whole day maniacally throwing darts at

Being miserable is idiosyncratic with my day to day mechanics

Where the surface seems happy

What hides behind the smile is constant critical thinking

On whether we really matter or is life worth living

Don't be mistaken, this is meant to be pathos

It's meant to break you down to let introspection take over

You can take this script and interpret it how you see fit

For this pathos is amanuensis to sadness

Introductory madness. Reluctance comes with it

After accepting theres nothing about you worth remembering

Now I'm left with my head in my hands

After I've welcomed into my life an understanding
