From the cliff

Where I stand I see waves crash upon the shore

Claps of thunder tear across the air

A gentle calm washes o'er the expanse

The wind carries whispers of resolve

Through the undecadent canyons and valleys below

And o’er the trees

Whispers of hope and solace unto my ears

Rain begins to blot the ground like ink to a page

Oh, sweet resolve

Her gentle lips mouth the words “Carry forward”

But the only sound I hear is the roar of the ocean

From her chest a light

A radiant beacon of hope

Thunder continues to drum against the sky

Rain has soaked the soil

My eyes open to see that dark silver clouds

Have broken way to a luminous sky

The smell of petrichor hangs in the air

The cool wind carries over the mountain pass
