Down below deck, hangs my cot
It's cold and damp but it's all I've got
Down below deck, it's full of rats!
It's long ago we ate our cats
Now down below deck, violence reign
Communication down to pain
And yes indeed, that place is vile
No-one laughs, and no-one smiles!

Down below deck, this very night
A man is looking for a fight
Take the bird, and knuckles white
Others are cowering in fright!
He yells, "Come on, you piece of rot
I'll fight you for the food you'll got
I don't care if it is wrong, I will eat 'cause I am strong!"

Down below deck, someone plots
To murder another in their cot
For stealing all the food he had
They'll pay with their life instead!
"He's got a knife in his hand
Sneaking for that lucky plan
Closing in upon his prey
He stabs them then blood will spray!"

Down below deck, blood has flown
Bodies in the sea are thrown
Bed's been knocked up from the floor
And no trace left of any gore
Down below deck, life goes on
No-one notices who is gone
No-one cares about the deed
And now there's one mouth less to feed!
