[Spoken Word]

Once, he was free of misery

He remembered

He was in the midst of what seemed to be an infinite flat-land of upright thorns surrounding him in every direction

He looked up to see people killing one another, then

Selfishly turning the lifeless bodies into platforms in order to make room for themselves to lie down comfortably or to create a bridge of bodies that would reach The Outside, a place whеre some say a comfortable grassland еxists

He was hesitant to move

But he was afraid of suffering only to become a platform or part of a bridge to paradise for someone else's relief

So, he sprinted across the thorns, continuously piercing and tearing his flesh with every step until he couldn't take the pain anymore

He fell, wept, and started to wish he could go back to where he began; surrounded by the thorns instead of weeping in agony from their constant affliction

He was desperately gasping for a breath of relief

So he spotted the nearest potential human platform

Killed it, and rested on the dead body

It felt good to lay down, but

Once he was free of misery

He remembered... 🔁
