Julia called me up late last night

I hadn't heard from her in ages

She said that she hated living her life

And that she hopes that I'll make it

Julia never had it all together

She was keeping everything to herself

Fell in love with boys she thought were forever

But eventually they placed her on a shelf

Julia was scared of getting older

She didn't have a plan or any goals

Every winter felt a little colder

And one day she decided just to fold

She never told her mother that she felt like this

She never talked to her friends or to a therapist

Thought it'd be easier to hide or run from the pain

But it never went away

Julia smoked weed alone in parking lots

She said it helped her thoughts stop wondering off

And for a moment she felt free, but it was all temporary

And she stopped wishing for a heartbeat

She never told her mother that she felt like this

She never talked to her friends or to a therapist

Thought it'd be easier to hide or run from the pain

But it never went away

Julia had the biggest heart I knew

She always told you things you'd wanna hear

She never missed a birthday or a show of mine

And she didn't deserve this life
