[Intro FX]

[Verse 1: Shadrack Henry]

Now as the greatest war in history came to an end

Another one involving all the world was set to begin

The United States, the USSR, and all of their friends

Would face off against each other like some ice skating men

The former allies who defeated fascists together

Were now involved in the conflict that was cold as the weather

An epic fight between superpowers that wouldn't be done

Until the Soviets ceased to exist in 1991

But going back to 1945 [?]

The two were fine but later that relationship would falter

Harry Truman realized the threat and tried to explain

It was that which brought about the policy of containment

But by 1948, the fate of Europe seemed uncertain

As the east and west were cut off from each other by an iron curtain

Over time the whole planet would be engulfed in the struggle

One that would lead to some additional trouble

[Chorus: ?]

It was a cold, Cold War

Democracy versus communism

That's what I'm talkin' about

Such a cold, Cold War

No Nazis just a lot of friction

For half a century wow

It was a cold, Cold War

Space odysseys and atomic vision

The world's survival in doubt

Such a cold, Cold War

[Verse 2: Shadrack Henry]

In 1949 Nato was created to keep the communists at bay

And Western Europe insulated

Initially, everything worked it held them back until 1955

That was the year they made the Warsaw Pact

To make things worse the Soviets would build an A-Bomb

Which let the US and themselves to later build an H-Bomb

Powerful weapons which could destroy civilizations

[?]'s mission would later complicate the brittle situation

On October 4th, 1957, and ICMB would push [?] beyond the heavens

Twelve years later, on July 20th, many people tuned in

To watch three Americans walk across the moon and

Hear the famous words that have proven to withstand time

[Neil Armstrong recording]: that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind

John F. Kennedy's vision became reality

However, he would lose his life in Dallas tragically

[Chorus: ?]

It was a cold, Cold War

Democracy versus communism

That's what I'm talkin' about

Such a cold, Cold War

No Nazis just a lot of friction

For half a century wow

It was a cold, Cold War

Space odysseys and atomic vision

The world's survival in doubt

Such a cold, Cold War

[Verse 3: Shadrack Henry]

From 1950, until 1953

The United Nation's did its best to keep Southern Korea free

A little south, the communists in Indo-China led by Ho-Chi Min

Overthrew the French and sought to bind the whole peninsula under one big tent

The US sent troops in to stop it but they couldn't prevent

The North from taking it in 1975

The war in Vietnam cost the US fifty-eight thousand lives

In 1962, the Cuban Missile Crisis shook the world like an earthquake

I'm telling you this was seismic

The KGB and CIA spied on each other

Sabotaged, aided revolutions, and lied on each other

Yet over the time the freezer would dissipate

Like in 1972, Nixon and Brezhnev agreed to solve

In 1989, down came the Berlin Wall

On November 10th and two years later Soviets would fall

[Chorus: ?]

It was a cold, Cold War

Democracy versus communism

That's what I'm talkin' about

Such a cold, Cold War

No Nazis just a lot of friction

For half a century wow

It was a cold, Cold War

Space odysseys and atomic vision

The world's survival in doubt

Such a cold, Cold War

[?]

[Outro]

Democracy versus communism

(Cold War, Cold War)

No Nazis just a lot of friction

(Cold, War, Cold War)

Space oddyseys and atomic visions
