Intro [Before Sunset]:

Celine: I know that's not true but that's sweet of you to say

Jesse: I think it is true. What do you think the chances were of us ever meeting again?

Celine: After that December, I'd say almost zero. But we're not real anyway, right? We're just characters in that old lady's dream. She's on her deathbed fantasising about her youth, so of course we had to meet again

I. Soupherb

Stares at beams of city lights, familiar

Night got darker, walks quicker

Recognises face passed by: bit older

He gives her a light tap on the shoulder

Knew it, it's the woman who granted his wishes

Halley returned so he could make a wish again

Handshakes, hugs, and kisses

It took ten years to reunite distant friends or more

He desires to settle the score

Intends to move forward to see what's in store

For them, took a deep breath for a second

Then started, how you doin?

She said, changing the world for a living

How about you? He replied, been writing

Both felt something still existing

Missing, they began asking each other

If one of them went back ten years ago

Girl held by tragedy, he tried denying

Couldn't handle her, ended up to show

No hard feelings, they're not apart anymore

To infinity and beyond, he loves to be taken

Her tail of stardust, he be following

Clearly trying to forget about everything

But everything changed when she noticed the ring

II. Kensa

Just one night was a decade ago

She was the incandescent comet that was gleaming in the afterglow

All the daydreams that he put to rest

Came to view him in the face, all vivid, picturesque

Once a blurry photo, she's a painting in the flesh

Middle-aged yet a lot more exquisite and finesse

Feeling reminiscent, he expressed an interest

To have the old flame rekindled, their tails intersected

They're a match made in heaven but the timing wasn't perfect

There's a ring on her planet that signified commitment

Two poles of a magnet, it's the attraction

Of a pulsar and a black hole that collapses all that matters

They can't be together, she's like antimatter

Barricaded 'til death torns them asunder

Still, they held each other 'til they reached the ending of the road

He'll go to war like Eros for her erogenous zones

Lost all the wisdom to sense what's erroneous

She's the empire, he's Shakespheare's Andronicus

The god of man who stole her fire like Prometheus

The light that was the center of his world like Copernicus

A magical encounter with an evolution

Their orbits coincided after many revolutions

And as the sun sets in the coast of the skyline

The promise of unity was granted in this lifetime

Outro [Before Sunset]:

Jesse: Now I know for sure, you wanna know why I wrote that stupid book?

Celine: Why?

Jesse: So that you might come to a reading in Paris and I could walk up to you and ask, "Where the fuck were you?"

Celine: No... You think I'd be here today?

Jesse: I'm serious. I think I wrote it in a way to try to find you
