It goes: shot out of a cannon only to land in another one

As long as I come out of this fully intact, I will sit back and laugh

Some days, escape isn't enough

But extinction's too much, so I gotta find the in-between

Relying on my wits and dreams does not pay off instantly

I just wanna sit and scream until my throat closes

Suppose the ferociousness was approached

With the option to be tame, I doubt that it would take the bait

I'm out of my mind and I don't know when I'm gonna return

Maybe when the sun drowns and the sea burns

And everything is flipped around, put in reverse

Then I'll make my way back just in time for church

If the climb is as high as it seems in my mind

I'll kiss my fear of heights goodbye, grit my teeth and greet the sky

Talk is cheap, I think the real prize is in our eyes

Why don't you focus in on mine?

It feels at times we are so confident in a way that we cannot prevail

And other times we're going nowhere fast, like a beached whale

Each nail that's impaled tells a different tale

I'll tuck you in and read 'em until nightmares fail

To exist, now who is this, no need for name exchange

'Cause you are you and I am me and we will never change

I really don't think that way, but that's my PSA for the day

Now all the kids can run away and start to play, I think it's smart

The way we build walls, fortify with fear and reluctance

See, but I got a sledgehammer made of patience, so lucky me

It looks like sleep doesn't have a chance

So I keep my eyes peeled and wait for a subtle glance

To be given, then I know it's time to cut the wire fast

People who throw stones don't admire glass

I won't ask, 'cause I know you don't wanna share

Maybe one day you will and maybe I will still care
