The first line is from the chorus of “Your Call”, another song of his. Hence, the subtle humor in his ironic statement. His action of poking fun at himself also reflects on the upbeat nature of the song and his hope to be together with his love.
He questions her own invulnerability in the face of their shared feelings; which highlights his own insecurity and unspoken fear.
In his eyes, she appears to be confident and in control of the situation, something that bugs him.
He wants to know her inner most desires and thoughts, as it’s suggested that he feels alone on the inside: He desires companionship.
It could also suggest his desire to know that he’s not the only one with secrets and fears: He wants to know that she’s just as vulnerable as him.
At this point, he’s almost pleading for her to prove him wrong: that she is actually just as vulnerable as he is.
In a relationship, both individuals open themselves up to each other: something that is actually quite scary to do, especially when one has been hurt before in love. But it is in this state of vulnerability that love truly grows and blossoms.
That is what he addresses in the entire song, hence his continued disbelief at the idea that he is the only one who is vulnerable.
