Christmas ornaments instead
Of Jack-o-lanterns on our heads
Water's well above our knees
I'll probably die before I freeze
And I can't remember where I am
Slice of heaven peeking through the cracks
And I won't go down without a fight
My knuckles turning white
I'll enjoy the golden summer sky
I've seen throughout my life
I'm slowly picking at my fries
A beetle stares me in the eyes
And there's a kingdom in the clouds
Where fools like us aren't allowed
And I know that I'll be leaving soon
Swear I'll see you by next harvest moon
And I think I know why I'm alive
An ironclad disguise
All the memories softly drifting by
And thoughts of key lime pie
