NARRATION

Meet Jerry. He loves cookies & milk. But he's lactose intolerant. Have a cookie, Jerry

INTRO [Mr. D]

So many systems - nervous to digestion

Think they don't interact? That's a misconception

This group of cells. This group of cells

They work together and they do it so well

This group of cell. This group of cells

In a tissue in an organ in a system

VERSE ONE [Tom]

Tissues? We're talking about tissues?

When cells come together and they figure out their issues

Making up the organs. Fluid flowing

Valves pushing on open. I know you already know it

But your heart is just part of system - cardiovascular

A system in a system and just so you don't miss 'em

It's interacting with the brain

Kidneys, lungs, skin, muscles, and my gut

Drink some milk. Drink it fast

Even though I digest it in my mouth and my stomach

Lactose is gonna test me

From the stomach to intestines (first small then large)

A bunch of E. Coli were resting now they're in charge

Take that sugar and they’re making CO2

Make some gas bubbles. Make 'em all say "pew.”

Gut bacteria - oh so important!

You could argue they could be their own dang organ

BRIDGE

I chop, they chop, we chop that food down

That gut bacteria 'll chop that food down

I chop, they chop, we chop that food down

E. Coli in the system gonna chop that food down
