It was only a moment under the stars

Just one second, but the world was ours

Her cheeks were pink against the cold

My hand searched around, looking for hers to hold

I shivered in the chill of February

But the cold I felt was only temporary

She gave me a bouquet of the sun

And i fell in love

She kissed me in the cool of the night

The moon shone up above

I was afraid of the dark

Until she met me on the

East side of Washington Square Park

And shе handed me

Sunshine on a flowеr

She loved me and I allowed her

I put that sunshine in a cup beside the window

Ever since she went away, my life has been so slow

I glance at my watch just to check, make sure time’s still ticking

I know the days are going by. But nothing’s sticking

There better be an end or

I just might surrender

Halfway around the sun from your touch

I didn’t plan on missing you quite this much

Come for me before the heat is gone

Come for me while I’m still holding on

So bring me a bouquet of the sun

Where we fell in love

Kiss me in the cool of the night

The moon’s still up above

I won’t be afraid of the dark

If you meet me on the

East side of Washington Square Park

And give me

Sunshine. Bright and yellow

How long since our last hello?

It was only a moment under the stars

Just one second, but the world was ours
