Were you in the garden after midnight when the people gathered all in one accord

To ask relief in these troubled times as done for the rich why not the poor, why not the poor

But they were only met by grim faced men in black armor

These things have got to change. You know it can't stay this way no more

By the pen or by the sword only time will tell

An to the rich man sippin champaigne in his tower laughin' at the poor folks down on the ground

He has forgotten all his wealth and all his power comes from those just like you and me

But he can't see

His eyes are blind and his mind is twisted by the need to feed that greed

These things have got to change. You know it can't stay this way no more

By the pen or by the sword, time alone will tell the tale...Lord have mercy

An so the grim faced men they fell upon them an they beat their brothers and sisters down upon the ground

The King did nothing and the rich men cheered and their honor was lost forevermore, an the people swore

They would remain until all these towers were broken

These things just have to change You know it can't stay this way no more

These things just have to change you know it can't be like this anymore

I say these things must surely change, we can't be like this no more

By the pen or by the sword.....but who will be here to listen
