Whispers of mercy

Pouring through the midnight sky;

Hustlers keep quiet

Waiting for a bigger catch

He wants to scream so loud

To bite inside their hearts

He can’t accept the fact

That he’s in love with one

Now, his body feels emptied out for good

I said now, there’s nothing more he can enjoy

Not a second more on Earth

He can’t, let go, and run

Although he thinks he should

A fire grows and grows;

Inside his boiling chest

Cause he can’t find no peace

He can’t hide, he can’t rest

Till the fire is gone

So he stays wide awake for weeks without breathing

For weeks without smiling

Until the fire is gone

And when finally passion lays low for a second

The pain and the shivers are blown by the liquor

The hurricane sleeps for days sometimes hours

Oh can’t you try

To do right

Find a job, a house and a wife

Oh can’t you lie

To yourself

For your family’s, pride and health

Oh don’t you cry

Don’t beg for my help

Cause you’re all alone now

Cause you’re a grown man now
