Something disturbing nagging him

About his shape

A feeling of dissolving

Losing mass at steady pace, what was this contracted sickness?

He bought himself a mirror

With gold laced frame

To study his own body

And blame imagination, this could not be real

Fading flesh

His skin turning translucent

He felt deceived

But knew the mirror wasn't lying to him

He stared for endless days

While his reflection was becoming weaker

Beyond repair

No medicine yet discovered that could save him

Day by day, fade away

Locked himself inside his house to isolate

Turning more transparent, sensitive to air

Must break this curse before it's too late

Every time he passed the mirror more of him had disappeared

His anxiety, soon all that would be left

Tried to punch the mirror into shards but there was no response

Couldn't grip a thing

A helpless soul

Could see through his own pale body

Mirror smiling back at the empty carcass he was

As made out of glass

Hating that old frame

Man of fog, never to return again

Soon to be

Extinct and clear as daylight

"No more me"

He thought and saw right through his hand

Now floating without weight

The self was almost gone

An itsy bitsy piece

Of once his full size form

To leave the physical nature

And join a timeless void

See through

Vaporized

Whatever caused this thing

A mystery unsolved now gone

Nothing left

Fading flesh

His skin turning translucent

He felt deceived

But knew the mirror wasn't lying to him

He stared for endless days

While his reflection was becoming weaker

Beyond repair

No medicine yet discovered that could save him

Now emptiness

Every time he passed the mirror more of him had disappeared

His anxiety, soon all that would be left

Tried to punch the mirror into shards but there was no response

Couldn't grip a thing

A helpless soul
