[Hook: Tom Fec & Rav]

In a field

Forever

In the sun

You're heavy

Chewing gum

Forever

In a field

Chewing on a bubblegum

Living

Chewing on a bubblegum

Living in a field

[Rav]

Nowhere to run, nowhere to go, nowhere to hide for cover

I try so hard to be like them, but I'm not like the others

Concerned with different things, they often wonder why I bother

I've never settled down and kept friends, all I've done was suffer

Born in the USSR, then moved around, seen different faces

Sometimes I didn't hate it, but never was I complacent

Everybody knows it all but me, they always have opinions

On how I should lead my life

"Just be happy"

That is brilliant

I love to look, but hate to find, in fear of losing shit

I've turned to drugs when I was scared, I'm but a useless kid

Having panic attacks, I'm manic, I act

Frantic in fact, a baffling brat

They say "keep chasing happiness"

I find it hard imagining that

24 hours, 14 billion eyes, staring

Judging what you're doing, how you're living, what you're wearing

I'm chewing on a bubble gum, laying in a field

Connecting all the pieces, contemplating how I feel

I don't mind not having what I want

I fear not knowing it

And I do not fear fear

I fear of showing it

Would I rather be blind and deaf

And fail to see my end reach

Or use the knowledge that I've gained

To run away, but face grief

I haven’t stayed anywhere for long enough to feel like have either a home or an identity.

In here I ponder whether “ignorance is bliss” or not. Would I rather be blind and deaf and not witness the pain of reality? Or would I rather be in the know, but live with the sorrow and agony of actuality? This I still have not decided.

No matter where you are, no matter the time of day, no matter what you are doing – there is always going to be someone there to judge you for your actions/behavior/choices.

Refers to when Rav was addicted to Vicodin

Everybody thinks of themselves as therapists and qualified life-coaches. Their suggestions and strategies, alas, are usually not very helpful or creative.

I believe that misery does not come from not possessing whatever you feel that you want or need, it’s not being aware of what it is that you actually want/need.
