[Verse]

I think the hardest part was never watching people leave

It was waking up one day and realizing I believed

That every version of myself would somehow make it to the end

But somewhere in the middle I forgot who I had been

Funny how the room gets louder when there's nobody inside

How your own reflection starts inventing different eyes

I spend more time with memories than people now, it's strange

'Cause memories don't interrupt you when you're trying to explain

I still know the roads we took without looking at a map

I still hear your voice between the silence of the gaps

It's like the world keeps moving, but my head missed the train

Still standing on the platform watching yesterday again

Everybody says that healing looks different over time

Maybe that's the problem—I keep measuring mine

I keep counting little victories nobody else can see

Like getting through a whole day without arguing with me

I don't really cry these days

Not because I'm stronger

Maybe I just got used to carrying things longer

I wonder if we're all pretending we know where we're going

Buying bigger dreams because the smaller ones stop glowing

Scrolling through the lives of people smiling at a lens

Trying to convince ourselves that's what surviving represents

Some nights I leave the lights off just to hear the walls exist

To remember every empty space I somehow still have missed

Because silence has a language if you let it talk enough

And it usually says the things that people call a bluff

I used to think success would finally quiet all the noise

Turns out it just amplifies the echoes of your voice

You still ask me if I'm happy in the back of my mind

And every answer that I write gets erased before I sign

Maybe growing up is learning that there's no grand reveal

No single conversation that's guaranteed to heal

No movie ending waiting where everything makes sense

Just another morning asking where your confidence went

I've become someone my younger self would probably admire

And somehow disappoint at exactly the same time

He would love the things I've built, the places that I've seen

But he'd ask me why I smile less than I did at seventeen

I don't think I'd have an answer

I'd probably sit beside him

Tell him that life doesn't always break you in explosions

Sometimes...

It wears away the edges...

Until one day you notice...

You don't remember...

When you stopped feeling afraid...

And when you stopped feeling amazed...

At exactly the same time
