Trapped inside these strong steel bars

The currents crack against my heart

As I wait for

A chance to roam these foreign lands

To finally breathe clean air again

This peaceful filth that they have come to accept

A depressed boredom that's in my mind

Tricking myself in thinking I was alright

That my issues were all figured out

Warm and fuzzy moments; rose-colored no doubt

Listing all the things I did to fuck it up

Scattered glass shards reminding one by one

My mind trying to escape within my head

But blockaded by bits of my own flesh

Losing the calm comfort of my sanity

Sudden fits of rage emit toxicity
