"Oh how I wish I was young, to feel alive again"

Had innocent purity, I knew I was me

Could keep my fascination with all these simple things

To not be kept up with the straight brevity of life

I used to summon wild dreams of being something more

Creative visions I saw will never be the same

This pumping heart inside me will never be okay

Slow aging of the brain has distorted all my mind

My favorite memories don't represent the time

Blotting out these momеnts hiding in my head

And all these timеs I questioned what happens when we're dead

Was quickly taught that my own opinions didn't matter

Traumatic injury I suffered made me blind

Ignore all my breakdowns

Verbal agony I took to make it

Constant threats against my life

All because of their envy

"Suck up all your tears, you're too old to cry"

You say this but you beg for me to have emotion

No longer let your piercing screams bother me

They drowned my innocence to kill me forever

Scared into a faith because I didn't know better

Thought that conforming to it would save me from God

Though this lengthy life we live is quite depressing

Your mental state will go on to determine time

Blotting out these moments hiding in my head

And all these times I questioned what happens when we're dead

Was quickly taught that my own opinions didn't matter

Traumatic injury I suffered made me blind

The past was never quite what we made it

But our mindset that we have can make it fine

Cleaning the mental state will make everything better

My consciousness is what kept me alive
