Rolling down the avenue

It’s dark and my headlights are through

My life flashes before my eyes

But somehow I arrive

Maybe I’ll just wait till sunrise

Drive home with my sunken eyes wide

Try so hard I flip the car

And wake up in a gurney

Tell my momma that I love her

See you dad above the thunder

Let this be a lesson children

Nothing lasts forever

Sometimes I forget that nothing matters

Every pitter every patter

Let it fill me up with laughter

Send me crying up the ladder

Getting higher

Getting higher in the sky

Until I tumble to the ocean

Sink so low I touch the bottom

It’s creeping up inside of me

The panic at a fallen leaf

I don’t remember

What is tender

Is this just what it means

To be a part of the machine

It’s not so nice to be so mean

The sky was blue but now it’s green
