I call it quits

As the rain drips down my skin

I fall immobilized, collapsed into my sin

I don’t know where I’m going

I barely know where I’ve been

I guess I’ll start where I fell off

And try it all over again

I believe I can see you and me in a loft up in the city

Then I stroke your hair

Whisper in your ear

Tell ya “girl, you looking pretty”

But suddenly you and me

Barely talk now I’m left alone in the street

Yeah I fell straight down

Hit rock bottom

Now I gotta get back on my feet

I’m looking up

So the sun can hit my face

But there ain’t a blue spot in the sky

So I’m trapped under the shade

I don’t know where I’m going

I barely know where I’ve been

Feels like I hit a wall that’s knocked me over again

I believe I can see you and me in a loft up in the city

Then I stroke your hair

Whisper in your ear

Tell ya “girl, you looking pretty”

But suddenly you and me

Barely talk now I’m left alone in the street

Yeah I fell straight down

Hit rock bottom

Now I gotta get back on my feet

Lift me up again

How can I amend?

My heart is aching

Feels forsaken

Since it’s first descent

Don’t defend you can’t pretend

You didn’t bring me to my end

I believe I can see you and me in a loft up in the city

Then I stroke your hair

Whisper in your ear

Tell ya “girl, you looking pretty”

But suddenly you and me

Barely talk now I’m left alone in the street

Yeah I fell straight down

Hit rock bottom

Now I gotta get back on my feet
