My head, it does tread

Where my feet go, I follow

Through thicket and hollow

Through Hampshire's hedgerow

Quietly, steadily

Stealth-like and readily

I take what I need

Giving only what I owe

Bright-eyed and dazzling

Cornish and maddening

Like a lightbulb of time

He wriggled on my line

Barefoot and open-toed

We climb down the open road

And, ear to the ground

Soak up every single sound

Hang on the banquet table

I'll be able to see

What's in front of them really is not free

Your eyes roll up to the night

Can be a troubling sight

To know you will end up in the sky
