HOCUS-POCUS

I greatly miscalculated the first round

Because I rushed for a rush I hit greed’s ground

Perceived friends were foes

Flowing lies like prose

Those so called friends

Taught me that means justify the ends

Instead of zooming in and keeping focus

I distorted my own vision and glitched in hocus-pocus

From this experience I’ve learned

That true wisdom is earned

And only time and grace expose what’s discerned
