Caught once more

A wide-eyed scan around the grocery store

A list, it never changes

Who is this scribbled paper for?

Today a cheaper copy of a mental cloud

My composition is a little more limited and loud

Two years is not so long

And our thoughts more docile now

I heard what I didn't want to know

Wept on the elevator down

Outside the world I almost forgot

You have always been existing somewhere else

Only what will be true?

What will be kind?

No written words help me to makе up the time

To make what happеned be benign

What will be left?

There is so much that I cannot risk to recognize

Love has been a hostile exercise

[Chorus]

If somebody did know me then

Somebody knew me back when

And want, I was a child

Give me, I need it, whatever it is

If I understood you back then

It was the briefest of moments

Could we meet?

Could you help me completely destroy this?

Even on my own I need to hear a voice

And that could be why

Your friend might have heard me coming home

Alone from work late the other night

Over that distance

Over that silence

Now I cannot use them

I've lived a stone's throw

From more than one condemned glass room

Row upon row

I do not want to play this—whatever you're calling it—anymore

Knowing once I leave there is no hero

There is no door

I do not want to play this [?] thing with you anymore

Never mind, who's coming with me?

In resistance at the molten core

[Chorus]

If somebody did know me then

Somebody knew me back when

And want, I was a child

Give me, I need it, whatever it is

If I understood you back then

It was the briefest of moments

Could we meet?

Could you help me completely destroy this?

If somebody did know me then

Somebody knew me back when

And want, I was a child

Give me, I need it, whatever it is

If I understood you back then

It was the briefest of moments

Could we meet?

Could you help me completely destroy this?
