Audition for a movie today

A pretty young girl, she’s excited to play a doctor

But the director had to stop her and turn her away because

She got freckles on her face

Her hair is really frizzy and she’s chubby in the waist, a cutie

But they were looking for a beauty, not her

So she went home took the makeup off her face

And ate a bowl of ice cream feeling her disgrace in the mirror

Just because

She wasn’t beautiful enough

She didn’t have the right proportions

She needs someone to build her up

She needs a drastic change in fortune

She wasn’t beautiful enough

She’s ashamed of her race

Too much melanin clouding up her face, a human

But she felt more like a demon

No Love, so she said things that a human wouldn’t say

And she did things just to push others away, she’s hurting

Becoming very disconcerting

Someone told her, “Keep quiet ‘cause you got nothing to say

You’ll only cause trouble so just stay out of the way

You’re worthless”

Just because

You’re just not beautiful enough

Your hair don’t hang down to your bottom

You need a man to build you up

You’re not a princess, you’re a problem

You’re just not beautiful enough

You could believe what they say about you

Or you could use it like a stepping stone

It’s like the fuel for the fire in you

And when it’s burning you’re forever strong

You ain’t gotta listen to whatever they say

You ain’t gotta try to do whatever they do

You are not the problem don’t be taken for a fool

Because you’re beautiful enough

I know sometimes the system fails ya

But all you need is too stand up

Don’t matter if anyone tells ya

Because you’re beautiful enough
