I went overboard with the video to show that I’m not going to hide. And those big-booty dancers I have, they’re not going to hide. Black girls should feel sexy, powerful and important too.

She’s allowing this male to have sex with her because he’s a drug dealer, ‘slings cocaine’ (sells cocaine) and has lots of money, which she likes. Women are often attracted to the ‘bad guys’.

In “Super Bass,” Nicki prefers men who get their money through legal means. Does she contradict herself? Very well then, she contradicts herself (She is large. She contains multitudes).

Cam'ron dropped a canonical reference to “slinging” in his Jay-Z distrack “You Gotta Love It”:

Nicki samples part of the intro, and 3rd verse of Sir Mix-A-Lot’s 1992 hit “Baby Got Back”.

Sir Mix-A-Lot isn’t interested in a chick with a pancake ass, she needs to have big buns if you want his ‘Anaconda’. Nicki would likely live up to his expectations.

In this context, the white girls are staring in awe at the size of Nicki’s ass.

Nicki Minaj’s sex appeal is very apparent and is noticed. She has embraced the fact that she is a sex symbol. Her curves have been described as her defining feature in her sex appeal that make her attractive to both men and women.

An ad-lib from the original track “Baby Got Back”, which was used recently in another hit.

The palace may be a nod to the home of the Detroit Pistons, The Palace of Auburn Hills. Troy is also a “bad boy”, so this can continue on with the basketball theme by including the ‘Bad Boys’ of the Pistons. They get in shootouts on the daily.

Troy is also the name of the fabled city from Homer’s Greek epics. “Palace” can be used to describe this city from ancient times, as it was built like a castle; stone walls and an interior of smaller locations all intertwined.

Nicki Minaj backs up her bad girl reputation with some in the auto-action.

Notice the intentional portrayal of the empowered woman: she’s the one who owns the car, and she’s the one doing the fucking. It’s with little details like this that Nicki takes control of the narrative and creates spaces where women are agents, not objects.

This line is almost the same as the last verse except the is a reference to Floyd Mayweather Jr who is an undefeated boxer and has won ten world titles and the lineal championship in four different weight divisions. He is considered to be the best pound for pound boxer.

The most notable characteristic of a Mayweather jab is the boxer’s speed, made possible by his unique jab footwork. Floyd collapses the distance between himself and his opponent with a fast lead on his right foot, then almost simultaneously recovers with a drop in his left, hind foot. Mayweather’s odd “in and out” footwork here allows him to “tag” opponents with a quick jab, while almost immediately retreating to a safe distance.

Nicki’s throwing punches in and out like Mayweather, but the “jab” could also be a slang for breasts.

Like the previous line, she is literally attacking him for attempting to gawk and grabbing her ass.

Nicki Minaj loves the cutting edge styles of British fashion house Alexander McQueen. McQueen, the brand’s namesake and original designer, died in 2010. His former assistant Sarah Burton has designed the line since. Troy, with his “big dope dealer money,” was able to spoil Nicki with McQueen’s wears.

Nicki embeds a rhyme scheme in a single line with ‘boy’ ‘toy’ and ‘Troy,’ then brings it back at the end of the line with her pronunciation of De-TROI-t.

It’s also a reference to Madonna, the pop diva to whom Nicki looks up the most. She is from Detroit and she has a company titled Boy Toy. Featured in Madonna’s Give Me All Your Luvin, Nicki says:

You can be my boy, you can be my boy toy

In this line, Nicki Minaj addresses a preference expressed by her partner, emphasizing his desire for a curvier and more substantial physique.

By saying “He say he don’t like ‘em boney,” she suggests that her partner is not attracted to thin or slender individuals.
Instead, he prefers “something he can grab,” indicating a preference for a more voluptuous and physically substantial figure.

Nicki samples Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back,” the big butt anthem from 1992, in the intro and hook of “Anaconda,” and takes the song’s title from Sir Mix-a-Lot’s now classic euphemism for his penis—he’s only interested if you’ve got the booty.

There’s something about asses and anacondas that just goes together. None other than Jennifer Lopez starring in a 1997 movie named for the snake.

This is a sample of the intro of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.“ It is used in the same context…a white girl commenting on a black girl’s ass (which is presumably larger than hers).

Notice how this chorus says “Oh my GOSH,” while Sir Mix-A-Lot’s original said “Oh my GOD.” It’s ironic, given the other language in the song, that such sensitivity comes here.
