Leaving CT

Open the door and I freeze in the framework

This town is like a full refrigerator

I can hardly walk outside

Because I'm scared I’ll see my neighbors

Even in good cities, kids can go mad

From spitting bones and sieving baths

How am I supposed to ever get home

If people keep leaving junk food in my path?

The only thing we ever need's a coach

Some inspiration, a trajectory of growth

But we're never seeing those

So independently I rose

I’d say I hate it here

But I think it'd be more accurate to say I hate me

For chasing safety and loving myself

Instead of the state that I'm creating

Guess I'm glad I'm past listening to radio rap

And wrapping sandwiches for rugrats

Glad my friends got what they set out for

But it makes me wonder what I'm sitting around for

Here we select our lives from a menu

Accrue high-cred school debt for refuge

Maybe this will be the day I let loose

Become a punk and prowl the DIY venues

Landmarks – bad memories

This environment commends my lethargy

God, come send another bad breakup

To get my stupid self to wake up

My conscience can't bear this empire of Easy

So I guess it won't, I’m leaving
