[Verse One]

First steps out the door in the daylight

Getting out of bed took all of my might

I just want to go back and not see a face

I stumble down the sidewalk with all of my grace

I grab food from the gas station

The attendant has entirely none of my patience

Coins land in my hand with the pace of my gait

I just stand as they land with her face all irate

Now its off to the basement where twin peaks will just play

I ignore the front door and telephone all day

Say where’d all my friends go though they just stopped trying

I cough once or twice and pretend like I’m dieing

Is it a wish or self fulfilling prophecy

Call myself a rapper but I don’t want anyone to see

I’m not a paradox but maybe I am

Call myself a recluse while looking for a hand

[Verse Two]

I’m the man who wasn’t there

I just cut the hair

Flat top or buzz cut I don’t really care

Walking round the streets like UFO take me

I hope I don’t sleep or that someone will wake me

Get me up shake me down and rise up above the ground

Take me to the canopy and I’m never coming down

Calvin’s magic tree house

No one else is allowed

Fighting aliens all day

Playing for a cheering crowd

Mic in my hand I’ve found my home now

Ice in my hand sitting on my throne now

You can call me king or you can call me sloth now

David stones to sling you can sit and watch now

Meditating on the mountain top

Once I find enlightenment I know I can never stop

Throw it all away just to sit watch it drop

Ignored the author and wrote my own plot
