Say what you want ‘bout controversy

I don’t really see the point

Bad PR is Good PR

And I’d hate to disappoint

But I’ve built my legacy

On not going bad for coin

So I’ll build my islands

And throw my parties

Til my story becomes disjoint

I don’t walk around overthrowing kings

Like some of the others do

Building towers and bunkers and hideouts

Like they got something to prove

I once would say that it’s overrated

Endless wars for us to persue

But peaceful people don’t get animated

So here I’ve got some plot for you

Someone had decided, someone made the rules

War and blood and fighting are the instruments of fools

Yet everyday on the battlefield they try and win and lose

I’ve been living, found the answer, and yet they refuse

You hear about a war, you hear they’re fighting over land

I know I’m not a general, I’ve no army to command

If I only matter with a sword in hand

What’s the point in winning if you never understand?

Why don’t we talk about my drama

Or lack thereof?

Is it not enough to build and to fall in love?

Every war story needs to hurt someone

And if not the lovers then it won’t be fun

What’s the problem, aren’t we all playing pretend?

Can’t survive without a conflict to depend

There’s a time and there’s a place and both I would not reccomend

But if this is what will bring me fame I guess I can attend

I never wanted to be

What they wanted of me

I am not a soldier

I was already free

But if you don’t ignite

And don’t buy into their fight

Then you’re of no use to them

How can that be right?

Always stuck in the background

Yet our hands are intertwined

I can live here forever

But without this I might die

Cuz they’ll never know my name

Thats all you want, in the end

So is it worth the fame?

Fine- guess I’ll play pretend

Why don’t we talk about my karma

Or lack thereof?

Is it not enough to smile and to fall in love?

Every war hero needs to be someone

And if not the lover then it won’t be fun

Battleaxe and reputation til the end

Can’t survive without a conflict to defend

There’s a time and there’s a place at which to die with friends

Cuz if this is what will bring me glory full steam ahead
