Intro

When I talk about God

I see him as an instrumentalist

He takes the notes I play

And he turns them into a song

I can't wait to play with Him

Verse 1

I may not be a soprano

But I know the second I blow

That I may not hit the right note

But every lyric that I wrote

Is now for your glory only

Now remind me to be holy

So let me make a masterpiece

Before I rest in peace at least

God let me know my vocation

This spiritual frustration

Comes from not knowing

Where I am going

I want to be your instrument

With every song that I invеnt

I need some more inspiration

To continue your crеation

I'm an artist in your image

I try my hardest with no smidge

To finish that picture

It is in my nature

Chorus

Listen now as my soul sings

Listen now to the music of my soul

Listen now as my soul sings

Listen now to the music of my soul

Verse 2

Lord set my heart on fire

As I sing with the choir

Now, I may not have a good voice

But I feel that I should rejoice

So let the holy family

Play me like a ukulele

So let me lord play you a brand new song

As I try my best to follow along

I just want to play my part

As I sing what’s from the heart

So now I have felt your mercy

There is no other place I rather be

Lord give me the grace to sing more

So I could give you an encore

Thank you for your sacrament

That made me your instrument

Chorus

Listen now as my soul sings

Listen now to the music of my soul

Listen now as my soul sings

Listen now to the music of my soul

Verse 3

It all started with notes being flat

Sounding like a slanted high hat

I decided the music wasn’t classic

Played weekly like the Eucharist

But the Church is not just for Sundays

But I only wanted to go some days

Used to testify with my melodies

I can’t amplify even with CDs

The vinyl keeps on repeating

The flat is like a venial sin

And playing a song is a ritual

But now new sin is habitual

But with these words I knit

I am a Catholic poet

Catholic is not an adjective

But it is the noun I live

Chorus

Listen now as my soul sings

Listen now to the music of my soul

Listen now as my soul sings

Listen now to the music of my soul

Verse 4

Now my goal is to turn the jam session

Into a lesson of being a Christian

Turn prayers into soulful odes

And that is how we will compose

The minute I had seen the rose

Chanting like we are out of exile

Creating an album with my profile

And those words were on key

Amen I do agree

So now, my life been changed ever since

I was a part of the audience

As we sing the psalms’ old chorus

I used to be notorious

And that was B.I.G

And that man was not me

Chorus

Listen now as my soul sings

Listen now to the music of my soul

Listen now as my soul sings

Listen now to the music of my soul
