My mind might take hours to change

Back to normal, she smiled, she didn’t see

Sheer tiredness keeps the sun in the sky

Loose habit holds the moon and the tides

They’ll hold me if they’re able

They’ll hold me if they’re able

I’ll look on this as stupid

I’ll act as if I dreamt it

I’ve been living selfish drowsy and proud

False promise lives with me like a friend

This servant, tired of doing it right

Smile, sheepish, follows girl into room

They always knew I’d do it

They sensed I was a traitor

It lasts until it changes

It changes when you want it

Everybody give up

Don’t be so careful

Tear your lives to pieces

And only you will know

Nobody is watching

Come and take me over

Make me stay a liar

And only you will know

And you won’t even care

I’ll hold you if I’m able

I’ll hold you if I’m able

And if I am a failure

Then just send me straight back to her

I like this, not being able to tell

What’s useful and what’s going to put me to use

One morning I will give up and go

Bone lazy I will give up and go
