I step up to the plate and adjust myself

Aim my gaze through the crowd to assess my wealth

Tap the dirt off my shoes then point to the stands

Both my eyes focused on one particular fan

Over seven hundred something feet away

We make eye contact for what seems like a whole day

I won’t play, it’s so far, but the stage of excitement

Brings me back to the pages I write with enlightenment

Sure, you know I’m in it to share a little truth

With anyone willing to listen to all my dumb riddles and clues

It’s a scavenger hunt and we’re third on the list

I try to finish up before the nerds get pissed

I am, therefore I like to think I exist

On this earth to mark all the right exits

It’s petty, but then I open my eyes

And I’m just in time to blindly catch this pop fly

Then i close them again forever chasing

This peaceful dream state that keeps my mind up late pacing

Back and forth my failed attempts stop hateful debates

They keep my brain, chained up and nervous about the evil they make

You know it, I know it, I've blown it, you know I’ll die alone it’s

Called the crying game and I sold it like a pro

You know it, I know it, I've blown it, you know I’ll ride alone

Down to hell laughing as the devil tries to slow my roll

Please don’t get me started on religion

When you put all your faith in fairy tales, it never ends well

Its never off into the sunset living happily ever after

It always ends with RIP when they catch ya

My subconscious knows better than that

I sold my soul so no one can ever write better than Mat

And I’m so thankful my eyes were opened

Before I got blindly trapped in hopeless devotion

You know it, I know it, I've blown it you know I’ll die alone it’s

Called the crying game and I sold it like a pro

You know it, I know it I've blown it you know I’ll ride alone

Down to hell laughing as the devil tries to slow my roll

You know I love sitting outside with the sun on my face

My pen scribbling down the rhymes I love their taste

Words, verbs adjectives predicates

Like i have to get my masters in magic just to rap my shit

I’m just a lyrical wordsmith from humble beginnings

From the time i was old enough to think my mind has been spinning

Focus tries to creep up on my ADD synapse

So i keep connections sharp with hundreds of lyrical chin ups

Mat Lee has to be the hip hop equivalent

To DEA conducting raids so they can steal your shit

I wanna take a second to thank each and every person

That's ever taken a second to listen to all my words its

Been a hell of a time, I've written rhyme after rhyme

While the government gets paid to spin us lie after lie

I’m completely fed up with this bullshit

The way they get away with treating the people you know its foolish
