[Hook]

Everybody's

Eyes red, living the blues, looking for

The green IOUs, yellow-bellied schemes

Run by dirty shoes, purple rain leaves

A short in your fuse, fade to black

Confusion you in, made to crack

You’re only hueman, fade to black

Confusion you in, made to crack

You’re only hueman

[Verse 1: Oracle]

I see

Mothers crying, babies dying

Brothers high and sisters lying

People fighting, UFO sightings

United Nations meetings that make laws tighten

Emcees writing nothing to enlighten

Just trying to get that money now or on consignment

I seen tyrants make this world seem vibrant

And peaceful when this shit is just violent and lethal

The lies I see through like Miss Cleo, but them cars

They never lie still, so what's the deal? Where you from?

The inner city slums filled with drugs and guns

And cops keep the ghetto youth on the run

Or were you born in a mansion with ‘nough funds?

Trying to spend cash at random to have fun?

Or are you stuck between the rich and the fiends?

Trying to come clean in this world of dirty scenes?

Fighting against the hate, envy, and greed

That control the scenes of American dreams

Tell the president in D.C. a new breed of emcees

Were born to set the people free. Can’t knock the game

Or stop the reign. We've been rocking this way

Before we got that radio play, and now

The public loves it, bumps it, shoves it

To the forefront to rip the function. This

Microphone abduction, we run the house, yeah

We in here, time to let the funk break out

[Verse 2: Kimani]

I'm from the Planet

Of Uptown, where niggas is bucked down, the cops hunted

Us now and don't give a fuck now, where the mayor

Sucks now, y'all peoples lucked out. Now you've been

Endowed by the sounds from the Masterminds dugout

It's bugged. I grew up in a brick building that, God willing

Is the same place that I'ma raise my children

Right on 97th Street, right around the corner from

Goat Park, where Rock Steady broke in the dark. What was

A part of my neighborhood became my whole lifestyle

Ever since the very first day I seen Wild Style

83rd Quad switched to 84 6th, we had

Decepticons, now we got Crips, all of this. You know

I still stay a fan of the Knicks, I'm true blue, and any-

-body gon’ diss, they get chopped like a bris. I can

Knock out a list of all the places I've been

But New York stays up under my skin. From an island with more

Puerto Ricans than down in Puerto Rico, where there's

A GAP, Blockbuster, Starbucks wherever we go

But people of my skin tone is never treated equal

And just about anything is legal. Place where there's

No need to drive, you could hop on the train

And the baseball team always reigns, where graffiti’s got a home

On 106th and a walk-on is famed

And nobody ever knows you by name. From a place with the best

Girls around, Black, Dominican, Asian

Puerto Rican, Jamaican, White, and Indian Haitian

So much ass in abundance, out-of-towners been hating

Come to visit for a minute, and they end up relocating
