[Chorus]

My thoughts, they be out of the box

I come from a time way back where the only

Tick tock was from clocks

I’m taking a shot and let it be known

While you locking that lock

I got an issue with doors in my face

That be closing a lot

[Verse 1]

Time, let’s talk about time

I recognize that it’s going in the blink of an eye, Thank God I’m alive

I gotta give it to the clock, it don’t stop

It’s on repeat never skipping a beat, sheesh

Should take my watch that be rushing me a lot and just easily step on it beneath me

Only way I’m on time nowadays

Believe mе, this life’ll go speedy

24:7 really ain’t enough

So if need bе I’m keeping it briefly

If we talk and we ain’t talking it bout much

Back reminiscing, my pen filled with inklings

Wish I could go back in time just to repeat things

Imagine the horror of knowing no nostalgia

Life is short but regardless

My time gonna be spent like it’s the longest

[Chorus]

My thoughts, they be out of the box

I come from a time way back where the only

Tick tock was from clocks

I’m taking a shot and let it be known

While you locking that lock

I got an issue with doors in my face

That be closing a lot

[Verse 2]

Constraints made by my loose mind

Kinda scared that I would lose mine

Worried bout how to use time

Till I said screw the clock it was due time

Clocked in my 10,000 hours of writing all these hard rhymes

Making music, Need a reason to quit my job in a split second, call that part-time

Know my time is here, no denying it’s appearance man

Spent a lot of moments doing things that would probably give a clock secondhand embarrassment

Like how I wasted a lot of time caring what others could think

Admittedly I was so full of anxiety

Now I spend time being myself

The irony, you can’t spell time without “I-M-E”

Remember those nights I was crying a lot

For a minute I ain’t have no pops

As the only son, all I had was Father Time in the form of a grandfather clock

But he was pretty kind

Lotta seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years

Turned the kid into the man, God and time is on my side and nothing could compare

Time has passed, I ain’t young here

Memories, ain’t none here

So unless you giving me my watch back for lost time don’t you ever come here

People left that was once here

Dreams deferred that was once big

Time will tell but only some hear

[Chorus]

My thoughts, they be out of the box

I come from a time way back where the only

Tick tock was from clocks

I’m taking a shot and let it be known

While you locking that lock

I got an issue with doors in my face

That be closing a lot
