the two races, who used to be friends, fought. the humans were merciless.
This was part of Chara and Asriel’s plan to free the monsters. The plan was for Chara to kill themself for Asriel to go to the surface, kill 6 humans, and free the monsters, but Asriel saw the humans and decided not to kill them. As it says in game “He had the power to destroy them all…”
Humans have the power of DETERMINATION, and staying determined is a constant throughout the game
Asgore’s declaration of war against the humans.
Asriel is Asgore’s son, who died
Possibly a reference to Toriel’s battle theme, Heartache
ASGORE grieving over him killing 6 human children and Chara, his child.
the monster-human war started and the monsters thought they would lose, so “Their stomachs filled with dread”

Asriel greets Chara and comforts them, taking them home to the ruins
the humans won the war and sealed the monsters underground, many years later, a human child fell underground and was shown LOVE
referring to the time before the war between monsters and humans- they lived happily and carefree
After Asriel absorbed Chara’s SOUL, Asriel was also DETERMINED
“Fallen down” is a state when a monster is sick and about to die/die
The humans attacked him with everything they had. He was struck with blow after blow. ASRIEL had the power to destroy them all.
Toriel did this to possibly every human who came into the ruins. She tried to keep them there, to keep them safe.
However, in her own words, “[she] cannot save even a single child.”
