Slightly Mad

I remember Sundays in the park

Evening prayers in the dark

Sweet dreams of wings of hope

Eyes wide open as a new morning broke

I am desperate and I am nostalgic

Clinging to the past

As for tomorrow – I do believe

This carrousel will pass

Beyond the point of no returning

Good things never last

And it makes me sad and just…slightly mad!

In my memories – still homeward bound

Those days were like a merry-go-round

Youth didn’t come to soon

Sweet temptation – sweet perfume

I am desperate and I am nostalgic

Clinging to the past

As for tomorrow – I do believe

This carrousel will pass

Beyond the point of no returning

Good things never last

And it makes me sad and just…slightly mad!

I remember Sundays in the park

Evening prayers in the dark

Sweet dreams of wings of hope

Eyes wide open as a new morning broke

In my memories – still homeward bound

Those days were like a merry-go-round

Youth didn’t come to soon

Sweet temptation – sweet perfume

Am I being over-nostalgic?

Dreaming of the past

The world today – I’m just not so sure

If life’s worth living for

There were times, I was optimistic

We should have made it last

But now I’m just so sad…

Don’t be desperate – don’t be frantic

I’m clinging to the past

I’ve got all the love you need

How could I made it last

It’s peaceful here and so romantic

Instead I let it pass

Now don’t be sad…don’t be sad

Don’t be desperate – don’t be frantic

I’m clinging to the past

To a dream you thought could come real

That hope is fading fast

It’s peaceful here and so romantic

Instead I let it pass

Come back – and stay…We’ll find a way…

Please…let me stay!
