[Verse 1]

Picture a young man

Roaming streets with a gun in hand

A self proclaimed thug

Never really busted a slug

But with intentions to mug

A product of a home with blood stained rugs

Father's an alcoholic

Mom's addicted to drugs

Crack baby brother in a crib of bugs

Barely breathing through his lungs

The hungry cries at night

The constant fights and ugly sights

Too much to bare

The kids were scared

The parents never cared

Looking at each other with empty stares

Pop's got a bottle in his hand

He's on a binge

Mom tightens up the band

Piercing her vein with a syringe

Enough to make her young son cringe

So it's up to him to put food in the fridge

Provide for his family the only way he knows how

Another life of tragedy, curtains down

My boy take a bow

Either swim or get drowned into this life of struggle

Another victim of the system in a concrete jungle

[Chorus]

And as the world burns

I learned life is hell

Living in a world no different from a cell

The pain's a bitch

And that's a matter of fact

So your lanes gotta switch

To get your conscience back

[Verse 2]

Cuz he ain't the first and he won't be the last

To roam these streets with hopes to get cash

So he's walking down the block

With his gun cocked

Still broke

Jumpy from the crack rocks

That he just smoked

Somebodies 'bout to get hurt

Finally he spots a woman walking home from work

Let the night stalking begin

He praying "Father forgive me, I'm about to sin"

He knows what he's doing is wrong

But it's either this or let the hunger go on

So he picks up the pace

Puts his hood up

Conceals his fucking face

The woman stops in front of her door

This was the chance the young man was waiting for

He walks up from behind, whips out his gun

Secretly hoping she would realize and run

He's getting bolder

Thinking soon this'll all be over

But then he cold hand touch his shoulder

His hearts stops

Shaking from the shock

He turns around then he points the Glock

Chorus (2x)

Verse 3:

He sees an old man

Their eyes lock, staring into his soul

Que the bell toll

He speaks in a soft tone

"Whats that you have in your hand my son

Understand no good can come from guns

You're a good kid overcome with hate and fear"

The young man drops the gun

Bursts into tears

Something he hasn't done in years

"Come with me kid, let me make things clear

See that woman's happy, has a man and a kid that's only two

But what you don't know is that she was just like you

Lost in a world too sick to view

Grew up on the same streets

Abusive parents and no food to eat

See we all got our problems and we all gotta face them

And there's always better methods used to erase them

Replace them with things you cherish then embrace them

Set goals and chase them

I know you'll be okay and you know i'm being honest

This shit ain't nonsense

I'm not a man kid, I'm just your conscience."

[Chorus x4]
