Behind a mask lies a face only it's owner can see

Despite it's physical form, there is much more that lies beneath

A fictitious veil; a fabricated reality shows itself on display

Underneath lies a truth so dark, locked inside our hearts, never to be manifested

The truth cries wolf in a web of lies

How is one to tell fiction from reality?

Persistent denial of oneself

We are jaded by our own eyes

We are at war with ourselves

With every day that comes, is another day I suffer

Built up with fear, in total disgrace

A look of deceit is worn across my face

We lie through our teeth, though the life that we live is temporary

There is no true feeling left to manifest

Will the truth in our hearts escape it's shackles?

Or will we live in fear of a dream we have designed?

Are we to fight ourselves until we die?

Are we to destroy all fragments of ourselves until we die?

Built up with fear, in total disgrace

Can we separate, escape our inner truth from the shadows?

The light shines through the cracks but cannot escape the blackness

A life of duality and ever changing masks, a game of charades for the masses to protect ourselves from everything we fear deep inside our hells

Collapse and give way to the worst of fears, unfurled

Open the door and see the light

Remove the mask you wear and open your eyes
