[Chorus 2x]

Leave me alone

Let me escape

Turn off my phone

I been lost in the race

Give me some peace and quiet

How it be sometimes

I’m fine. But I need me a break

[Verse 1]

And I need me beach side view

Mind still in an east side mood

Gotta hustle to get I never forget it

My minds on the money like Mario’s crew

I open my phone to inspiring news

A move with thе majors. Oh my I’ve improved

Finally fruitful the hours and yеars that I spent

Oh the shit they said I’d never do

I lit a fire. But look at the fuse

It’s burning up it’ll be out in a few

I chase the flame and get high off the fumes

But the second it’s gone I sit back feeling blue again

How do they do it then

Everyone’s happy on all of these apps

Only accomplishment posting

They bringing and boating

Bout shit That I want but don’t have

Searching for peace in my prosperity

But it still always seems that I lust what I lack

Stuck in a track

Too dark a place to exist it’s a trap

If I let go of it all just to breathe for a minute

I still couldn’t even relax

Knowing I didn’t give all that I have

So I sit back

Scribbling notes on my pad

Hoping that someday my happiness lasts

[Chorus 2x]

Leave me alone

Let me escape

Turn off my phone

I been lost in the race

Give me some peace and quiet

How it be sometimes

I’m fine. But I need me a break

Leave me alone [3x]

[Verse 2]

End of the day and I’m stuck in my head again

End of the week and I can’t even rest

I tell myself that I’m better than getting caught up but I do it even at my best

All the excitement from accolades fleeting

The only thing permanent seems to be stress

I could be goated. Hell I could sell billions of records I still couldn’t catch me a breath

Society praises the hustle mentality

That work every day to the death

My daddy before me was like this as well

But at age 57 we laid him to rest

That got me thinking of all the comparisons

I do subconsciously. All of the tests

Is it all worth it in hopes that one day in the future I’ll see myself as a success?

Maybe it’s something I need to do now

A different perspective. A change of the lens

Maybe my value is not to be found in a fortune

Instead it’s something in my chest

Learn to love me for the man that I’ve managed to be despite all I observe and repress

Maybe we’re blessed

I’m just gon change up the view here

Before I get back to my quest

[Chorus 2x]

Leave me alone

Let me escape

Turn off my phone

I been lost in the race

Give me some peace and quiet

How it be sometimes

I’m fine. But I need me a break

Leave me alone [3x]
