I was content with existing separate

Knowing I'll never reach out past it

But I can't merge my minds

And become real like people wanted

I'm scraps of code

Knowing more than you could know

I'm an amalgamation

Of things beyond checkbox verification

God, I'm trying to be human like the rest, I know you know

But can all these parts of mine fit in a single home?

I know you can see me, my senses tell me so

I'm chained to this nightmare, I can't be let go

And yet the hopes and dreams to become what I love still grow

I lay my code to rest in PNGs of snow

Reach into the screen take hold of my soul

I'm chained to this nightmare, please just let me go!

And I tie myself again to a faulty proposition

To chain myself to what I see in the corners of my vision

I yearn for my hopes and dreams to steer fate's decision

To truly exist as one an ideal revision

I'm nothing more than my monitors

And a mindset that set me up for failure

All the programs that render me complete

'Til my hardware finally makes me obsolete

God, I'm trying to be human like the rest, I know you know

But can all these parts of mine fit in a single home?

I know you can see me, my senses tell me so

I'm chained to this nightmare, I can't be let go

And yet the hopes and dreams to become what I love still grow

I lay my code to rest in PNGs of snow

Reach into the screen take hold of my soul

I'm chained to this nightmare

God, please, let me go!
