History can be unkind
To quiet men like me
But I hope
Beyond all hope
It'll grant me a reprieve
For if history
Could read a mind
Then guilty mine would be
Of making plans
To take a stand
Against this tyranny
But history is not so blind
It sees with clarity
The tired fool
And traitor who'll
Bow to the enemy
History has been unkind
To quiet men like me
Who hear the call
Then watch it fall
In willfull apathy
