(Intro)

Yeah I just... I got something to share

It’s a true story

Well, here goes

(Verse)

Tell me my man what’s familiar to you

I know the feeling of confusions, what the hell can I do

When those formerly cited as your friends abandon you

When they kick you to the curb, and make you wonder what’s the use

I know the snakes in the grass that sidewind and bide time

Leave you blistering freezing with them beady old eyes

It’s those kinda folks, switch the laughs up for lies

Let you into their lives, then forget your phone line

Till you get a few listens, play a couple gigs

And then win a couple grammies, then the bitter gets finished

Bullshit dismissed, man the water’s passed the bridge

But I got nothing to spill when people ask about the tea

Peas in a pod, man I never eat my greens

But I blaze up the finest, help me see my dreams

That’s your bygones gone by the wayside

Say goodbye to the fake love and fake vibes

Coronas on the wall, shattered bloodlines behind me

I left em all there cause they robbed my time and peace

I ain’t morally ready, so I vent rhymes for now

Only fags that I smoke are the kind that have a mouth

A mouth that gets big and earns a knife for the clout

So listen up now, I got a story to tell

About me and those brothers I no longer know that well

Now this old little fable might provoke or amaze

We were turning in home, post blowout with the mates

Long ride home, we were stoned something crazy

Damo’s da dropped us off and let us go next to H&M

Back behind the offo where the homeless people lay

Ain’t no better place to find to roll some lemon haze

When we found a shopping cart on its own we had to play

So I hopped up in the cart and then Owen started saying

“Everybody get clear this man’s going into labour”

Shouted at the skies as we rolled along the pavement

Until we saw some shit that got us slowing down the pace

Because a fella shouted at us from the road in a mercedes

I saw the flashing lights but didn’t know about the danger

But then I saw that it was 5-0 that we were facing

Man I prayed he couldn’t tell that we’d been smoking up and blazing

I tried to explain but I was blown the fuck away

So I couldn’t say shit that I was roped into the game

Put the trolley back then he was strolling up enraged

The others realised that I would blow it cause I’m baked

And the cop was getting closer, but then all the shit changed

And it couldn’t have been foreshadowed like some Rome in the Aeneid

Cause then I turned and saw the lads had flown off to escape

Couldn’t damn believe my mates eloped the situation

So I had to face the cop alone, my heart was racing

Would he pop a 9 off and leave a hole up in my face?

But then he said “That’s theft, you’re

Damn fucking lucky I don’t throw you into jail

But if I see you here again then I will show you to the station”

And I was damn lucky he’d been calling it a day

And that’s how it ends, when I discovered all the snakes

Close calls are what it takes

I ain’t see it then till I was shown how to face it

Serves as a mentor, guide dog for the future

Brush with payback, man’s best friend to a loser

Comes to rear its head when you’re knees deep in a boozer

Don’t take your eye off the ball, only take to adapt

Certain folks accept the challenge and then break the pact

Keep your third eye open and you’ll learn to face the facts

See that’s the snakes in the grass that take what you’re trynna find

Make you pay through the ass up until the last time

It was on that night that the truth entered my eyes

So this chapter’s done with all them paragraphs of lies

(Outro)

Yeah, that’s... that’s all I had to share

Anyways, see youse
