[Verse 1: Johnny Cypher]

I know I’m not alone, I [?], I hold no regrets

Except for the fact I’m always dancing about to go to death

As if I’m overheard, I’m talking a broken hell

Sheepdog ripped apart a sheep to keep the rest in check

But why do we preach what we can teach instead?

Is Jesus dead? Must we hang on every word he said?

Like we learned how to run and appointed all the nuns and another chosen one until

We hang our favorite proverb upon the board, say we’re done

As if all of the facts are supposed to be overrun

The loss if we can get a bit of a bad reputation

‘cause most of the intellects can take part in mistaken

One man’s reality for a sense of stability

A mystery that we probably could’ve solved quickly with a love or a sentence

Screaming a cover that was we mentioned above all that disrespected man of easily neglected truce

And some don’t even rely on proof

And so this spoof is we depend upon the high man’s noose

Just to weather away the enemy ’til evolution pays its dues

Overdue, my love is gone at last though

I am old and blue, what am I supposed to do?

I do love my parents but I think I’m holding them a bit too close to the chest

Need not all for the best

Feeling so lone and depressed

Do we know we’re not dead, eh?

[Chorus: Marli Kerr]

How can you be sure you’re alive?

Are you so sure you’re alive?

How can you be sure you’re alive?

Are you so sure you’re alive?

How can you be sure you’re alive?

Are you so sure you’re alive?

How can you be sure you’re alive?

Are you so sure you’re alive?

[Verse 2: Johnny Cypher]

So rally up the posse and we’ll gallop to the [?]

Blame them for draining all this interest from the old and weak

I’ve got a messiah complex, they said that

Normality’s a [?] that’s laced with bull crap

How very easy for us to say that [?] inferior

Continue to ignore those who believe that they’re superior

There is no creation, there’s no such thing as entropy

Only motion, change and maybe a sense of energy

The [?] think as far as who’s concerned

I’d rather be a poster child for those that learned the architect of society’s a product of lies

To be smart’s to take pride in a moment that already passed by

No good [?] not a god damn narrative

Why do we keep rushing in the wrong damn narrative?

Perspective is key, but without curiosity

We are just a bunch of chemists surrounding the same hypocrisy

Get nine lives and a fascination with death

We have been trapped in a cage, messed up, demanding respect

I’m growing tired and weary, I’m angry so I’m leaving the mask

And never attempt to purchase a feeling

[Chorus: Marli Kerr & Johnny Cypher]

I’ll never again purchase a feeling / How can you be sure you’re alive?

I’ll never again purchase a feeling / Are you so sure you’re alive?

I’m getting sick of purchasing feelings

I’m getting sick of purchasing feelings

How can you be sure you’re alive?

Are you so sure you’re alive?

How can you be sure you’re alive?

Are you so sure you’re alive?

How can you be sure you’re alive?

Are you so sure you’re alive?
