Breezeblocks

Don't you know how relationships go?

They're either going to last or they're going to end

C'est la vie, that's just ebb and flow and I suppose it just really depends

On circumstances, they gotta be right, and it's not enough to feel okay at the end of the night

And at the end of the fight, you just seek some peace and turn to each other for physical release

And you tasted so sweet in that red and black skirt

And I never ever meant to dip or dessert

I'll fill you up with these culinary puns

Maybe drop some double entendre in there just for fun

And still I hear country roads and can't help but remember

Freezing walks and bitter talks in Minden in November

And though we tried to blow some life into the embers

We were just doomed to fail like a walk to remember

Don't you know how the world goes? Some guy had to come and break your heart

But you know my girl was a Pablo Picasso and I didn't respect a piece of art

I fed you line after line time after time

Trying to protect you, well intended but I'm still guilty

I made promises on paper that I couldn't back up

My clothes were clean but underneath I was filthy

And it killed me, cause I never meant to let it end that way

But we were two cars speeding down a one way

And we couldn't decide if it was better to hold on

Or to swim in other waters, see if the current is strong

And I dipped my toes and wondered what it'd be like to swim

And it ended with you treading water, your patience wearing thin

And I stood a ways away and pondered moving your way

But I couldn't create the right phrases to say

And once it was too late for you to be saved

I started to think hard about the time and effort you gave

But I still just watched and let you drown

Bitter because you took my head right out of the clouds

Honestly, you were better for me than I ever could be for you

I'm childish girl, but that's on me, there was nothing that you could do

Before you go before you go you need to know need you to know

That even though it all went wrong I did love you so I did love you so

And yeah maybe I do sleep on a cot

And yeah maybe you were an afterthought

And after ten long months I dropped the feelings I caught

But forget some feelings now I'm scheming like Rick Ross

So now you're gone and all I got left is my focus

Boutta spread like the plague like locusts

And there he goes with a biblical allusion

I'm well read just to avoid confusion

But the money's in the confidence and I believe in myself

And it's about time I add some more trophies to the shelf

And I really do hope you're doing fine

But right now I'm worried about me and getting mine

And it's B-A-N-A-N-A-S how you look at my name and it spells success

I got a manifest gonna put it to the test and I spit real fast so they call it espresso

Back on my grind can't make up my mind but I make that green call it pesto

Doing magic, got a rabbit in a hat like presto

Conjure up outta thin air the next flow

Like let's go, like let's go, like let's go, like let's go

Got a lot of bills in my billfold, because everything I spit is straight gold

Like let's go, like let's go...
