[Verse 1]

Another day trapped in his sick clutch

A lot of hurt in her head, it's all too much

She lies to her teachers, saying she's still okay

Cries herself to sleep, tears on her pillowcase

Clarissa would play pretend that she’s okay

But she wishes she could speak out one day

No matter how many tears she's cried

She still smiles, though she feels dead inside

Coming home from school to a personal hell

Her own bedroom feeling more like a prison cell

Just imagine feeling afraid of seeing adults

‘Cause the one you live with acts morally false

She keeps to herself like a hide and seek game

But there would be no joy whenever he would play

Engaging in acts so morbid, horrid and cold

And what's worse? She's only ten years old

[Hook]

She sings to herself to calm her nerves

But after some time, it does not work

So she’s stuck in his sick ways

As she prays for a bright new day

[Verse 2]

After a while, dealing with acts so vile

Her mindset becomes so fragile

She becomes depressed, reality disjointed

'cause that sick man had left her exploited!

So she lies in bed, fighting back her tears

Her mind on high alert from all the fear

That his monster will return and act so sickly

Upon her, making her grow up too quickly

Imagine losing all personal value in yourself

Nobody aiding you whenever you ask for help

Imagine feeling like no one will believe you

And even your own guilt starts to deceive you

Yeah, that's so sick, but it's so true

1 in 20 suffer, maybe that 1 was you

As for Clarissa, her mind's now corrupt

If you think that's bad, wait 'till she grows up

[Hook]

[Verse 3]

Clarissa's an adult, but she's still depressed

All the acts she endured were never addressed

'Cause she was afraid that nobody would care

So she suffered in silence when nobody's there

Now she's scared that if she finds a man

She'll fall back into the cycle that began

When she was ten years old, times so cold

Once again, nobody knew, not a soul was told

The PTSD doesn't help either

Memories of her childhood aren't a breather

But a reminder of all those horrible times

That her so-called 'carer' did those horrid crimes

Her delicate mindstate feels guilty and dark

As she once again hides the scars on her arm

She wishes it wasn't, but she knows what's true

Perhaps Clarissa is somebody close to you

[Hook 2]

She sung to herself to calm her nerves

But now she's feeling so much more worse

'Cause she couldn't escape his sick ways

Now her life has little sunny days
