They ponder and they gaze
Upon the veil, the sea of stars
Beyond each dim, faded beacon of light
A sky of ghosts, bearers of life
Forging elements in their crucibles
Becoming self-aware to know itself
Reflections of the infinite
Eons in my field of view
Boundless, cosmic
Breathing consciousness
Remnants of a dead star
With time beyond measure
There is meaning in chaos
An uncertain isolation
And we long to return
As the ashes from its final flame
