Though the human beings do not realise what has happened, but they feel something isn’t quite right. If you really think about it, an entire species having all their memories wiped out is truly horrifying, and ironically their lack of memory is the one thing that prevents them from realising the catastrophe that happened to them.
One of the first things that the human beings look for is a purpose in their existence, which is very true in real life. Everyone wants to know what they have to do to achieve something in life.
The Setians have learnt they cannot ever trust mankind, because they know its nature is violent. As time will pass, humanity will wage war against itself after they have somewhat recovered from the clouding.
The ten thousand Setians that had remained hidden from the massacre now morph themselves to resemble human beings in order to take revenge. The clouding has led humanity to form factions who will wage many wars against one another. The Setians will also plot many events that will mold humanity’s fate, as described in an earlier Iced Earth song that mentioned the clouding.
In the time that follows the clouding, mankind is starting to be divided into factions of races (“those that resemble me”), paving the way for many wars and disasters that will come in the following centuries.
