True Hallucinations

My True Hallucinations,

Black flags, full mast above the nation's polling stations.

I feel like giving and never taking

Believing different things when I'm sleeping than I do when I awaken

I dream of coats of many colours, stark raving claiming there's a sword dangling up above us

Karma, Obama's dreams from his father shatter, every drone flown between Jacob's Creek and Jacob's ladder

Mellow flex, push it out like the soft eject

Rhymes connect, adding hypertext to the codex

Chained to a railing to protest like a Suffragette

Can guess what's next as the noose is set to stretch my neck

Out like the flight of a thousand birds at night, I search amongst the dirt for jewels and stray rays of light

I spent too many years tracing traces of divinity so I shaved my fucking beard as a concession to infinity

Hallucinations just continue

The face in the mirror says ‘I see the prick within you’

But there’s my face right in the centre of the Sun

I fling stars into space until the Big Bang is undone

And I’m exposed, you know my soul is showing

Try to laugh it off like it was just an awkward moment

Voice from the past directing traffic in slow motion

With forty thousand headmen all roaming in the gloaming.

This is the sound of one hand clapping, what is happening

Is the window dressing trappings are collapsing into fractal patterns

From actual laughing like a maniac I’m cracking

Back and forth between reality so much that it’s embarrassing

I break the seal, believe in things that are not real

And feel kaleidoscopic like a prophet’s wheel within a wheel.

Funny way of looking, my head is not together

Paradoxical perspective’s why they call me MC Escher
