What if I believe the night sky is harboring a bright light beyond its shades?

Cast shadows down beneath

A moment in time feels like it’s an eternity

Lost and never-ending symmetry reformed, but cast away

Through our time they face this shallow view of life

To which there is no compromise

I'm done with the days

Of wishing things would change

When they thought that we had just begun

The game was already won

I pull down the shades

Wishing you’d go away

Capturing every word these walls have held for years

Starved

Of the knowledge we pursue

And in their lies, a greater truth

Ambivalent, we reach into it's mouth again

Stealing all that we need

Trapped in the space between us

On the edge of life, a subconscious mind

The fountains of youth feeding humanity lies

Parallel to the great design, we exist

But just for an instant

Playing it over in my head

Never again they said, they said never again

Will the weight of the world fall on my shoulders, when I can barely hold up my own head?

Looking within for the strength to begin again, though I don't want to forget

I’d rather suffocate than suffer routines of the dying dead

And even if the cold fronts ignore us, they’re standing before us

There’s no turning back now

It’s make or break

Sink or swim

On the edge of life, a subconscious mind

The fountains of youth leading humanity blind

Parallel to the great design, we exist

But just for that instant

Never again will I close my eyes

Unable to see the deeper meaning within

Trying to justify the divide as a means to an end

We extend our hand for the last time

Playing it over again

I remember, I remember

Walking through the night

Our backs turned, a world left in embers

Led astray behind the lost voice, we exist

But just for that instant, it was what I felt
