How long will I circle the drain

Before I realize what I want is something I can’t attain

Is anyone listening

Has the sparkle in my eye burned out

Is it covered by the shade of my doubt

Or muted by the absence of voices of the clubs I’m playing in

Will I be okay to let the photograph fade in the back of my closet

Will I look back with a nostalgic grin or the pain of regret in my stomach

Cause maybe I’ve been wasting time

And maybe all along you were right

But at least I know where I want to be

Even though I’m only left with a glimpse of it

How long before the dream just dies

Before I realize

The timing was just never right and nobody’s listening

How many empty clubs until I’ve had enough

This is a life I chose and know but not sure if I want anymore

It’s getting clearer now

Swallowed up by all my doubt

This is a young man’s game

You grow old and let go
